Finland’s President Makes Historic Visit to Kenya, Focuses on Peace and Partnership

Finnish President Alexander Stubb is on a three-day state visit to Kenya, marking the first official visit by a Finnish head of state to the country. The visit focuses on building stronger cooperation in peace, politics, and trade.
 

Kenya and Finland signed two agreements aimed at political consultations, peace mediation, and conflict resolution. Both presidents also confirmed their commitment to the Kenya-European Union Economic Partnership Agreement, which began in July 2024.

 

President Stubb praised Kenya’s role in global peace efforts and expressed interest in deepening economic cooperation. He was accompanied by a Finnish business delegation looking to explore investment opportunities in Kenya.

 

President Ruto highlighted Finland’s expertise in education, technology, renewable energy, and climate action, noting that these areas match Kenya’s development goals.
