Broad-based Women Leaders Tear Into Uhuru Over Rigging Claims

Women leaders allied to the broad-based government have come out guns blazing against retired President Uhuru Kenyatta over his fresh claims on the 2022 election.
The firebrand women MPs said Uhuru should keep off and let President William Ruto govern the country.
Speaking during a charged empowerment forum in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County – led by host MP Phylis Bartoo and attended by over 10 women MPs – the leaders dismissed Uhuru’s assertion that the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the 2022 presidential race.
Uhuru, during a Jubilee Party meeting in Nairobi, had insisted Raila won and wondered how Azimio swept parliamentary and county seats but lost the presidency.
But the UDA women leaders would have none of it.
“You ruled for 10 years and handed over power. Give Ruto time to work!” they fired back.
They defended Ruto’s track record, saying the Kenya Kwanza administration has delivered big on development despite inheriting a struggling economy.
The leaders said Kenyans are watching delivery, not 2022 politics, and urged Uhuru and his allies to stop reopening old wounds and focus on unity and development.
