Aldai, Belgut Shine as Infotrak Ranks Kenya’s Top MPs by Region

Nandi’s Aldai and Kericho’s Belgut feature prominently among Rift Valley’s best-performing constituencies in the latest Infotrak Members of Parliament performance survey.
The latest Infotrak 2026 Members of Parliament Performance Survey has ranked Aldai MP Marianne Kitany and Belgut MP Nelson Koech among the Rift Valley’s top-performing legislators, reflecting strong public confidence in their parliamentary work.
In the Rift Valley rankings, Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek and Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo jointly lead with 73 per cent, followed closely by Belgut MP Nelson Koech, who also scored 73 per cent. Aldai MP Marianne Kitany shares fifth position with Samburu East MP Jackson Lekumontare, each scoring 72 per cent, while Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda also recorded 73 per cent.

Beyond the Rift Valley, the survey highlights regional differences in parliamentary performance.
In the Western region, Kabuchai MP Joseph Majimbo Kalasinga emerged as the top performer with 78 per cent, followed by Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa (73%), Mumias East MP Peter Salasya (72%), Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka (70%), and Emuhaya MP Jeremiah Milemba together with Ikolomani MP Bernard Masaka, who each scored 69 per cent.
In Nyanza, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita topped the region with 71 per cent. He was followed by Awendo MP John Walter Owino, Suna West MP Peter Masara, and Ugenya MP David Ouma Ochieng, all tied at 70 per cent, while Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi rounded off the top five with 68 per cent.
In Nairobi, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino recorded the highest score nationally among the regions featured, with 80 per cent. He was followed by Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi (65%), Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Mejjadonk (63%), and Embakasi North MP James Gakuya (61%).
For Nandi County, Aldai’s appearance among the region’s top five reinforces its reputation for active legislative representation, while Belgut’s strong showing places Kericho County among the counties with highly rated parliamentary leadership.
The Infotrak survey evaluates Members of Parliament on key indicators including legislation, oversight, representation, accessibility to constituents, and development initiatives. The findings provide a snapshot of public perception of MPs’ performance and are expected to fuel debate on accountability and service delivery as the country heads towards the next electoral cycle.
