Among the notable and popular faces is David Kipsang Keter famously known Dollarline. He is a known business tycoon, farmer and a political network builder. Dollarline who was born in 1970 lives in Chelemei in Kasasian Ward, the third-largest voting bloc in Emurua Dikirr constituency.

He has been commanding the votes in the ward and his presence in the race is not new but a sign of resilience and consistency in Emurua Dikirr politics. His stamina in politics traces back to 2007 when in joined hands with the liberators of Emurua Dikirr who finally endorsed the late Hon. Johana Ng’eno to run for Kilgoris constituency seat. Ngeno eventually lost to Gideon Konchella.
Dollar as is known by many of his diehard supporters, played a role of kingmaker at the time. He was among the few people together with the late Narok county CEC John Marintany who groomed the first governor of Narok Hon. Samuel ole Tunai.
He, as well came up with the idea of picking a Kalenjin running mate for a Maasai gubernatorial candidate in Narok county. He pushed for Evelyn Chepkirui Aruasa from Narok South to deputise Ole Tunai and she, truly to the idea of Keter, successfully became Tunai’s deputy for two full terms.
The custom has kept trending since Patrick ole Ntutu’s deputy now is a Hon. Tamalinye Koech, a Kipsigis from Ololmasani, Transmara. Every Maasai governor aspirant now considers picking a Kipsigis running before joining the race in order to harvest from the rich Kipsigis voting bloc. It was Dollarline’s brainchild.
He would then join the parliamentary race in 2013, 2017 and 2022 when in all races he became number 2 with an upward trajectory in terms of votes he garnered in every election cycle. This is a sign of a hopeful and resilient leader. He always smiled and moved on whenever he was not announced the winner.
David Keter has been associated by many supporters and non-supporters as a leader who has brokered the employment of many youth and adults in Emurua Dikirr. He has been so instrumental in employment a sizable number of people into the Kenya police service, the prison, KDF, Teachers Service Commission and various parts in public and private sectors through proper and sober networking including with the presidency, office of the governor and so on.
Many people are earning their daily bread by working in his vast petroleum businesses placed in strategic place mainly in the South Rift region such Bomet, Narok, Kericho, Nakuru and in Nairobi city. Others work in his prestigious commercial farms of dorper sheep and Sahiwal cattle rearing spread in Transmara South, East and Narok West sides.
Dollarline is among the top contestants in the Emurua Dikirr upcoming parliamentary by-election set for 14/5/2026 following the demise of his perennial prime rival the late Hon. Johana Ngeno. He is aspiring to win the UDA ticket where he will square out with others such as Benard Ngeno who was the late Ngeno’s Personal Assistant, Ezra Sowe, Tito Rotich, Saitoti John, Wakili Gideon, Joseph Chelosgei and others in a party nomination process slated for Friday 27/3/2026.
As always in Emurua Dikirr, the final verdict will rest with an electorate known for weighing its options carefully. Dollarline has asked the residents to give him an opportunity to serve them especially in this remaining one year before the next general election. In a matter of time the people of Emurua Dikirr will choose their representative in the National Assembly and David Keter is among the top choices.
