Old Mutual, AXA, and EHS Partner to Launch Global Executive Health Plan in Kenya
By Jacquelyne Arusei | Nairobi, Kenya,
Kenya’s international private medical insurance (IPMI) market is set for major growth following a new partnership between Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya, AXA Global Healthcare, and Executive Healthcare Solutions (EHS) aimed at meeting rising demand for cross-border medical coverage.
The partnership combines AXA’s worldwide healthcare network with Old Mutual’s strong local presence and EHS’s deep regional experience. The new plan will offer Kenyans cashless access to medical treatment both within Africa and internationally, with the partners promising competitive pricing driven by their combined scale.

The launch taps into a growing need for international private medical insurance (IPMI) in Kenya, which is fast becoming a regional healthcare hub. “Kenya is a maturing country when it comes to healthcare and acts as almost the gateway to East Africa,” said Karim IDILBY, Chief Growth Officer at AXA Global Healthcare.
The partnership also has a clear regional expansion roadmap, with plans to launch compliant solutions in Tanzania by January 1, 2026, and other territories thereafter.
This alliance marks a pivotal moment for the IPMI sector in East Africa, combining global scale, local insight, and operational excellence to deliver a healthcare solution that is both world-class and uniquely tailored to the needs of the African market.
