Belgut MP Nelson Koech today joined family members, friends, and local leaders in Soget, Emurua Dikkir Constituency, for the prayer and dedication of a house constructed for Mama Nancy, the mother of the late Amos Kipngetich.

The house was built in honour of Amos, who tragically lost his life alongside former Sotik MP Hon. Johanna Ngeno and other crew members in a helicopter crash that shocked the nation.

Speaking during the dedication ceremony, Koech said the house stands as a lasting tribute to Amos’ life and the impact he made on those who knew him.

“Today, we gathered not only to dedicate a house but also to honour the memory of a young man whose life was cut short in a tragic accident. This home is a symbol of our solidarity with Mama Nancy and our commitment to ensuring that Amos’ legacy lives on,” said Koech.

The Belgut legislator noted that supporting families affected by tragedy is a collective responsibility and urged leaders and communities to continue standing with those facing difficult moments.

“While we cannot replace the lives lost, we can walk alongside the families they left behind. Our prayers and support remain with Mama Nancy and her family as they continue to heal,” he added.

Koech also paid tribute to the late Hon. Johanna Ngeno and the other victims of the crash, describing them as individuals who served their communities with dedication and commitment.

“We remain grateful for the lives of Amos, Hon. Johanna Ngeno, and the other crew members. Their memories will continue to inspire us, and we pray that their souls rest in eternal peace,” he said.

The dedication ceremony brought together residents and leaders who joined the family in remembering the lives lost while celebrating a gesture aimed at bringing comfort and hope to Mama Nancy.
