22-Bed Dormitory Destroyed in Tarakwa High School Fire

A 22-bed wooden dormitory at Tarakwa High School in Bomet County was destroyed by fire on Monday night.
Emergency response teams from the Kenya Red Cross and the County Disaster Management Unit swiftly responded to the distress call from the school and helped contain the situation.

 

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and all students were accounted for and remain in good condition.

 

The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and relevant authorities are expected to commence investigations to determine the source of the incident.

 

School officials, disaster management personnel, and other stakeholders are assessing the extent of the damage and exploring measures to ensure learning continues uninterrupted.
