Wakili Sigei Tournament Heats Up as County Finals Beckon

It’s all systems go for Bomet Senators Wakili Hillary Sigei Football Tournament Sub County finals, as Chepalungu gears up for a thrilling football weekend. The action kicks off this Saturday at Olbutyo and Tumoi grounds, while Siongiroi will host the Chepalungu sub county final matches on Sunday.
Following Chepalungu’s finals, the tournament will head to Sotik sub county, where the showdown is set for Kamureito and Olbobo grounds.
Already, several teams have booked their spots in the county finals. Kaporuso FC emerged as Bomet East champions, with Olbobo United finishing second both securing their place in the county showdown.
Kibaruandi Sharks clinched the Konoin title, while Chepchapas Hotspurs came in second. In Bomet Central, Green Snipers runners up in the previous edition sealed the top spot, with Kapkoros FC following closely behind.
The Wakili Sigei Tournament, a brainchild of Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei, is more than just a football competition. Its core mission is to nurture, identify, and uplift young talent across the county. According to Tournament Cordinator Kipkoech Langat Popularly knon as Hussesin , over 30 players from the previous edition have since joined professional and semi professional football clubs across Kenya, underscoring the tournament’s growing impact.
This year’s edition will culminate in a county final set for August 8 at the prestigious Bomet IAAF Stadium. The top two teams from each sub-county will lock horns in a grand finale, with more than one million shillings in prize money up for grabs
