Uzalendo half marathon to support needy students in Eldama Ravine

More than 1,000 athletes are expected to participate in Uzalendo half marathon which will be held on July 19th in Eldama Ravine in Baringo county.

Speaking at Uzalendo school in Eldama Ravine, Simon Kiyeng who is Athletics Kenya’s Baringo chapter vice chairman said the race, which was previously known as Eldama Ravine Half Marathon, will start from Emining and terminate in Eldama Ravine town.

He was accompanied by Race Director Sammy Chumba who said all plans have been put in place to ensure a smooth race where the winners (both men and women) will each pocket 250,000 shs.

Also accompanying him were Board members of Uzalendo school led by Zipporah Komen, Dr. Patrick Boruett among others.

The proceeds of the race will be used to support bright and needy students at the Uzalendo school.
