Murder Suspect Arraigned in Gruesome Killing of Bomet Woman

A man accused of brutally murdering 45-year-old Rachealline Ruto was on Thursday arraigned before Bomet Chief Magistrate Esther Boke.
Wesley Cheruiyot Koech, the prime suspect, was arrested in Sailo, Kipkelion East, with a blood-stained knife believed to have been used in the attack, according to DCI officers from Bomet Central led by Emmanuel Ogao.
Detectives have requested more time to complete investigations into the chilling incident, which is suspected to be tied to a love triangle.
Preliminary reports indicate Koech stormed into Rachealline’s home while she was asleep and beheaded her in a gruesome assault.
Her son, who was sleeping in another room, woke up to prepare for school and discovered her lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.
The court is expected to issue further directions as investigations continue.
Rachealline’s body was laid rest today;Friday 4th April 2025 in her home in Longisa Bomet East.
