The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has unveiled the Tinderet Equator, a new tourism product set to reposition the Tinderet region as a key destination for adventure, sports, and cultural tourism.
Speaking during the unveiling, KTB CEO June Chepkemei said the initiative is part of the Magical Kenya Trail Series, aimed at diversifying Kenya’s tourism offerings beyond traditional safari and beach experiences.

Ms Chepkemei noted that the Tinderet Equator highlights the region’s unique geography, scenic highlands, rich culture, and outdoor adventure potential, making it attractive to both domestic and international tourists.
She emphasized that the project is expected to boost local economies, create opportunities for youth, guides, hoteliers, and small businesses, and position Nandi County and the larger Rift Valley region as emerging tourism hubs.
The KTB CEO further assured that sustainability remains a priority, with measures in place to protect the environment while promoting responsible tourism and community participation.

The Tinderet Equator is expected to attract athletes, hikers, adventure enthusiasts, and cultural tourists, while strengthening Kenya’s global brand as a diverse and all-year tourism destination.
As Kenya continues to unlock new tourism frontiers, stakeholders say the Tinderet Equator marks a significant step toward inclusive growth and regional development.
