Kenya to Achieve Global Student-Teacher Ratio by 2027 – PS Bitok

Education Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bittok has said Kenya is on track to achieve the internationally recommended standard of student-teacher ratio of 1:25 by the year 2027.
Speaking at Ossen High School during a thanksgiving ceremony for last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, Prof. Bittok said the Kenya Kwanza administration will have hired over 100,000 teachers by next year, significantly boosting staffing levels across the country.
He also revealed that the government plans to recruit an additional 24,000 teachers in the next financial year to support the implementation of the Competency-Based Education.
In addition, the PS issued KSh 15 million to complete the school’s administration block, further underscoring the government’s to improving education infrastructure.
