Epic battle as Faith faces off with Jebet, KASS-Sirikwa Classic Roadshow continues

This year’s ABSA Sirikwa Classic Cross Country promises to be nothing short of electrifying as two of Kenya’s most celebrated athletes, three-time Olympic Champion Faith Kipyegon and World 10KM record holder Agnes Jebet Ngetich, prepare to battle it out for glory.

 

With over 1,500 elite athletes set to grace the event, the fourth edition is shaping up to be a global spectacle.

 

The race will be held at Lobo Village in Kapseret, Eldoret, the “City of Champions,” on February 22.

 

Athletes from 14 countries, including powerhouses like Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Ukraine, Germany, and Poland, will converge for a thrilling contest.

 

The City of Champions is ready to welcome these athletes in what will be a spectacular display of grit, speed, and stamina.

 

Kipyegon vs. Ngetich: A Clash of Titans

 

Faith Kipyegon, knows the course well, having won here in  2023 Sirikwa Classic, she returns seeking the title against a formidable opponent—Agnes Jebet Ngetich, the 2023 World Cross Country Championship bronze medalist.

The rivalry between Kipyegon and Ngetich will undoubtedly captivate spectators as the two stars fight for supremacy on the cross-country course.

Agnes who trains in Iten,  while speaking to KASS TV earlier said that she was using Sirikwa Classic event to launch her 2025 season.

 

In the men’s elite race, the competition is just as fierce. Jacob Krop, the World 5000M silver medalist, will be facing off against Stanley Waithaka, the 10,000M World silver medalist.

 

These world-class athletes, along with a host of other elite competitors, will battle for the top honors in one of the most exciting races of the season.

 

An Invitation to Spectators: Join the Celebration

 

Race Director Barnaba Korir shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming event during a press conference in Eldoret.

 

He encouraged fans from all over to come to Lobo Village to experience the excitement firsthand.

A Festival of Entertainment

 

Beyond the thrilling race, the Sirikwa Classic will feature entertainment for the whole family.

 

Kalenjin music sensation Vicky Brilliance will grace the stage, along with gospel artist Mwalimu Kendagor, Tumi Nova, and a host of traditional music groups and choirs.

 

 

The festive atmosphere will be the perfect complement to the adrenaline-pumping race action.

Kass Media Group is also taking the excitement on the road with the Sirikwa Classic Roadshow.

 

Kass FM’s presenters have been meeting fans across Uasin Gishu and Iten, generating buzz and excitement ahead of the big event.

 

 

 

On Thursday and Friday, the roadshow will head to Nandi and Elgeiyo Marakwet, before returning to Uasin Gishu.
