CS Murkomen Says Government Ready to Enforce CAF Rules During CHAN

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen while on his 28th Jukwaa La Usalama tour, attended in Nakuru, confirmed that the Government has put up measures to ensure that the Country is on the correct side of the rules of CAF during the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Speaking at the recent Jukwaa visit, Murkomen confirmed that the National Police Service will regulate the 27,000 spectators allowed into Kasarani Stadium and ensure that unticketed fans remain exterior to the Stadium.
Murkomen clarified that he expected Kenyans to join the match only if they purchased tickets, adding that he was urging Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to involve the Sports Ministry to plant big screens in public areas to accommodate fans.
“I need to stress that it will reflect badly on us and create a security risk if we too many people will enter. Let us stick to the 60% and line up behind Harambee Stars,” he stated.
Murkomen concluded by articulating that CHAN represents a curtain raiser for AFCON, and further advised that IG Douglas Kanja has been holding security meetings about the proper conduct ahead of a match on Sunday.
I would like to appreciate the Ruto Administration to bring and deliver a tournament that has been over 40 years in the waiting, while playing by the rules is important to grow Sports in this country.
