Bomet CEC Condemns Rising Cases of Gender-Based Violence

County Executive Committee Member in charge of Gender and Social Services in Bomet County, Cecilia Mutai, has condemned the rising cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the county. Mutai’s remarks follow the tragic murder of a 16-year-old minor on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred while the victim’s grandmother was outside milking livestock.

 

The suspect linked to the murder is still at large. Police have confirmed that efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the fugitive.

 

Mutai called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases of violence to the authorities, urging the community to work together to curb the increasing cases of GBV in the county.
