Kenya Power EV Parades Drive Kenya Closer to a Clean Transport Future
By Shadrack Mutai – Nairobi, Kenya
Kenya Power’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Parades officially concluded today at the KICC in Nairobi with a vibrant 43-kilometre convoy through the city, showcasing the growing adoption and diversity of electric mobility solutions in Kenya.
The Nairobi parade marked the climax of a series of caravans conducted along the country’s major transport corridors, including the Nairobi–Mombasa–Nairobi route and the Nairobi–Kisumu–Eldoret–Nairobi corridor.

The convoy featured a wide range of electric mobility options, including electric buses, tuk-tuks, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and passenger vehicles, highlighting the expanding availability of clean transport alternatives in the country.
The route traversed key roads across the capital, including Waiyaki Way, James Gichuru Road, Olenguruone Road, Lang’ata Road, Raila Odinga Way, Arwings Kodhek Road, Lusaka Road, Jogoo Road, Outer Ring Road, Thika Road, Forest Road, Museum Hill, Uhuru Highway, and City Hall Way before returning to KICC.

Kenya Power expressed appreciation to all e-mobility partners, stakeholders, drivers, and riders whose participation and support contributed to the success of the parades.
The successful conclusion of the EV parades now sets the stage for the 4th Annual Kenya Power E-Mobility Conference and Expo scheduled for June 4–5, 2026, where industry players will convene to advance discussions on the future of electric mobility in Kenya.
