CFAO Kenya Bets on Rising Demand for Modern Farm Machinery

By Shadrack Mutai | Nairobi,

CFAO Kenya is projecting strong growth in the country’s agricultural sector as more farmers embrace modern machinery to boost productivity and efficiency.
The announcement came as the 2026 Case IH Middle East and Africa Distributor Convention concluded in Mombasa marking the first time the high-level event has been hosted on the African continent.

As the exclusive dealer of Case IH agricultural machinery in Kenya, CFAO Kenya says it has recorded steady growth in recent years, driven by increased demand for mechanized farming solutions. The company has been expanding its footprint across key agricultural regions to bring equipment and after-sales services closer to farmers.

Speaking during the convention, Akira Wada, Managing Director of CFAO Kenya, said the company’s expansion signals confidence in Kenya’s efforts to modernize agriculture.
“We are seeing good momentum as more farmers adopt our machines and equipment. With better financing options available, farmers can now boost their production,” he said.

CFAO Kenya has established branches and sub-dealer outlets in major farming zones, enabling both large and small-scale farmers to access modern equipment and technical support.
The Mombasa convention brought together Case IH distributors from across the Middle East and Africa to discuss innovation, sustainability, and productivity in developing markets.
Hassib Thabet, Case IH Sales Director for the Middle East and Africa, said the forum provided an opportunity to explore new technologies and sustainable farming practices aimed at improving food security.

CNH Industrial, the parent company of Case IH, reaffirmed its commitment to African markets, emphasizing mechanization as a key driver of economic growth.
In Kenya, agriculture remains the backbone of the economy, contributing about 30 percent of GDP, employing nearly 80 percent of the workforce, and generating over 60 percent of export earnings. Increased mechanization aligns with national development goals aimed at strengthening food security and rural incomes.

CFAO Kenya’s expansion comes at a time when farmers are grappling with erratic rainfall, pests, and volatile markets challenges that modern farm equipment seeks to address.
The company’s outlook reflects a broader trend across East Africa, where investment in agricultural modernization is increasingly seen as essential to long-term economic growth.
