Agriculture Ministry Opens Applications for 286 Contract Positions

Nairobi, Feb 3 — Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has opened applications for 286 contract positions across a range of administrative, technical and operational roles, according to a notice issued by the State Department for Livestock Development.
The recruitment drive targets one-year contract appointments in clerical, office support, field assistance and service roles within the livestock docket.
The ministry said the vacancies are open to qualified citizens and are intended to support service delivery in both office-based and field operations.
According to the notice, the largest number of vacancies are for Office Assistant IV positions, with 65 slots available, followed by Clerical Officer II with 44 openings. Other advertised roles include Animal Husbandry Assistant II with 35 positions, Driver III and Plant Operator III with a combined total of 32 slots, and Livestock Assistant II with 25 vacancies.
Additional positions are available for Office Administrative Assistant III, artisans, housekeeping assistants, security wardens, receptionists and cooks, bringing the total number of advertised jobs to 286.
The ministry said applicants must submit their applications using the PSC2 form (Revised 2016), which is available on the Public Service Commission website. Applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates.
Candidates are required to apply for only one position, with the ministry warning that multiple applications may lead to disqualification.
Completed applications should be sent to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development, or delivered to Kilimo House in Nairobi.
The deadline for submission is 5:00 pm on February 28, 2026.
