Kimalel Goat Auction 2025 set for December 20–22 in Baringo County

The Kimalel Goat Auction 2025 takes place from Saturday, December 20, to Monday, December 22, at Kimalel Grounds and Lake Baringo.

 

Organised by the County Government of Baringo, the three-day event will draw farmers, traders, and buyers from across the region. Cultural performances and trade fair exhibitions will take place ahead of the main goat auction on Monday.

 

 

Farmers, traders, and the public are encouraged to attend and take part in the sale.

 

Baringo County has 32 livestock sale yards, where goats, sheep, and cattle are traded weekly. Each year, the county sells over 300,000 livestock.

 

This year, around 5,000 goats are expected to go under the hammer, with President William Ruto leading the auction.

 

 

In recent years, goat prices have steadily risen. Last year, goats sold at an average of Sh15,000, up from Sh13,000 in 2023 and Sh12,000 in 2022.
