KCB Rugby Club delivered a commanding run to victory at the 59th editition of the Christie Sevens, held over the weekend at Nairobi’s RFUEA Grounds.

The former National Sevens Circuit champions outclassed Menengai Oilers 19–5 in a thrilling final to clinch the third leg of the ongoing 2025 SportPesa National Sevens Tournament. The win marked their second title of the campaign, adding to their earlier success at the Driftwood Sevens.
Floyd Wabwire led the charge for the Bankers, dotting down twice in the final, including the opening try that set the tone for a high-tempo showdown. Brian Wahinya converted the first, while Festus Shiasi added a second try before the break to give KCB a 12–0 halftime lead. Wabwire sealed the deal with a second-half try before Oilers managed a late response through Samuel Ovwamu.

KCB’s journey to the title saw them dismantle Daystar Falcons 27–0 in the quarterfinals, followed by a narrow 21–19 win over Kenya Harlequins in a hard-fought semifinal.
Wabwire’s performance in the tournament earned him both the Player of the Tournament award as well as tying in the Top Try Scorer spot with 8 tries in the tournament.
“This win is for the team. Our collective effort made this possible, and I have to give my teammates their flowers. We approached every game as a final, and it paid off. Now, our focus shifts to the Embu 7s this coming weekend,” said Wabwire.
The circuit now heads to Embu for the fourth leg, with KCB aiming to continue their momentum in pursuit of the crown.
