I Will Crash Your Coup Attempts, Ruto Tells Opposition
By Bernard Koech |
President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to those plotting to oust him from power using unconstitutional means.
A visibly angry President said he will crash any attempt to dislodge him from power using avenues not provided for in the laws of the land.

Speaking in Kilimani Police Station when he inspected the ongoing construction of 540 housing units, Ruto said Kenyans will have an opportunity to judge him at the ballot during the 2027 elections and therefore, dissenting leaders need to be patient and let him work.
He also announced that protesters who attack police stations and security installations during demos will be shot in the leg to immobilize them before being taken to hospital and court.

“Those who attack Kenyans, police officers and businesses are terrorists. Such criminal acts are a declaration of war,” said the Head of State.
According to Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, 31 Kenyans were killed during Sabasaba demos which were held on Monday in various parts of the country where property of unknown value was also destroyed.
Ruto said the government was in the process of identifying and arresting sponsors of the mayhem witnessed on Sabasaba and June 25th demos.
“We will not allow our country to be destroyed by retrogressive elements that are seeking shortcuts to rise to power. Enough is enough!”
