Sogoo Residents Call on Narok County Government to Resolve Drug Shortage at Local Hospital

Residents of Sogoo in Narok South are urging the Narok County Government to take immediate action to resolve a persistent drug shortage at the Sogoo Level 4 Hospital, which they say is crippling access to essential healthcare services in the area.
During an interview with Kass Digital at the Sogoo Health Centre, concerned resident Joseph Rongoe voiced his frustration, stating that patients are often turned away due to the unavailability of basic medical supplies.
“We come here expecting treatment, but most of the time we’re told there are no drugs,” said Rongoe. “People have no choice but to travel long distances to places like Longisa just to get the care they need. It’s not right.”

Another local, Peter Leshau, emphasized the urgency of the situation, calling on the county authorities to act before the crisis escalates.
“If the county doesn’t step in soon, this will become a much bigger problem,” Leshau warned. “We need leaders who listen and respond to the needs of the people.”
Residents are now appealing to both elected leaders and health officials to treat the matter with the seriousness it deserves and to implement a long-term solution to prevent future shortages.
