Murkomen Declares Zero Tolerance on Political Violence and Incitement

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has pledged a firm crackdown on political violence and ethnic incitement, warning that no leader—regardless of status—will be spared. Speaking at Nuru Africa Inland Church in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, Murkomen called on county security teams to take decisive action against politicians fueling unrest and division.

“We are committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure nation for all,” Murkomen stated. “No one is untouchable—not because of their title, not because of their political connections.”

His remarks come amid rising concerns over politically motivated violence in Trans Nzoia, with gang activities disrupting funerals and public events. The CS condemned leaders who rally goons to spread fear and chaos, urging them to prioritize peace and responsible leadership.

Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang and Sitatunga MCA Simon Murei joined Murkomen in calling for unity and an end to divisive politics. “It is sad that seeds of ethnic division are being planted in our villages. Trans Nzoia is a diverse county, and leaders must avoid politics that divide communities,” Murei emphasized.

Murkomen reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance stance, promising swift action against those threatening national peace. “Under my watch, we will not condone anyone who seeks to burn down our nation. We will do everything possible to keep our country safe,” he declared.

As tensions rise, the government remains firm in its mission to dismantle political thuggery and restore order, ensuring every Kenyan can live peacefully without fear of politically instigated violence.
