Kenya’s national women’s volleyball team, the Malkia Strikers, has officially named its squad for the upcoming FIVB World Championships — a landmark event as it marks the first time the tournament will be held in Southeast Asia. The competition is scheduled to run from August 22 to September 7, 2025, across four iconic Thai cities: Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.
The announcement came shortly after a thrilling finale of the 2025 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s League at Kasarani Indoor Arena, where Kenya Pipeline edged out DCI with a dramatic 3-2 victory.
Ahead of the championships, the team is expected to hold a pre-tournament training camp in Vietnam before heading to Thailand.
Head Coach Geoffrey Omondi will lead the squad, assisted by David Muthui and Esther Jepkosgei.
