Residents of Tambach Ward can now look forward to improved healthcare and road infrastructure following a development tour by Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich on Wednesday.

In a bid to strengthen the county’s health and transport sectors, Governor Rotich officially commissioned several key projects and inspected ongoing works aimed at improving service delivery and accessibility across the ward.

Among the notable highlights of the tour was the official handover of an ambulance to Tambach Ward, a move that is expected to significantly ease patient referrals to the Iten County Referral Hospital and reduce emergency response times.

In addition, the Governor handed over a grader earmarked for Tambach Ward, which will lower road maintenance costs and free up resources for other essential services.

To boost diagnostic capacity at the Tambach Sub-County Hospital, the Governor presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for a new laboratory and handed over a full haemogram machine along with other essential medical equipment.

These additions are expected to enhance the hospital’s ability to provide timely and accurate medical services to the growing population.

During the tour, over 500 residents received free medical screening services, further underscoring the county’s commitment to preventive healthcare.

Governor Rotich also conducted an inspection of ongoing projects, including the construction of a cereal store in Kessup, which will play a vital role in the distribution of subsidized fertilizer, and the Kapchebar Dispensary, which is being upgraded to expand healthcare access. He also visited the Kongin-Chemelkut Road, where improvement works are currently underway to improve connectivity in the region.

While engaging residents in Kipkaa, Tambach, and Kessup, Governor Rotich reaffirmed his administration’s focus on grassroots development and sustainable service delivery.

He was accompanied by area MCA Dominic Chesire, Soy North MCA Simon Chepseba, County Secretary Lazarus Chebii, CECs Monica Rotich and Emmy Kosgei, as well as Chief Officers Isaac Koech, Caroline Magut, and Lorna Kipsang, among other county officials.
