Bishop Robert Langat who heads the Africa Gospel Church (AGC) Kenya, has underscored the critical role of the church in uplifting education and shaping future generations in the country.
Speaking during a prayer service for Form Four learners at Tenwek High School in Bomet County, Bishop Langat emphasized the church’s mission to nurture the next generation through education and mentorship.
“We, as AGC Kenya, have played a tremendous role in supporting schools across the country. In fact, 80% of the schools in Bomet are either sponsored by AGC Kenya or were established under our influence,” said Bishop Langat.
He further noted the church’s responsibility in mentoring young people. “We have rolled out a program where our local churches regularly engage students from nearby schools, offering them life mentorship and spiritual guidance,” he said.
Bishop Langat also cautioned the youth, particularly the Gen Zs generation against engaging in destructive activities such as demonstrations, urging them instead to remain focused on building their futures.
“This generation, known as Gen Zs, should not take part in actions that destroy what their forefathers, the Kaplelach, worked hard to build. If they destroy it, then there is no future,” he warned.
Tenwek High School Senior Principal Mutali Chesebe assured parents that the Form Four class of 2025, nicknamed The Solomons, is well-prepared and will perform well in the upcoming national examinations.
Also present at the event were former KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion, among other leaders.
