A New meeting Record for Cherotich in Oslo as Wanyonyi Digs Deep in 800m

‎‎Emmanuel Wanyonyi reminded the world why he’s the reigning Olympic and Diamond League champion with a bold, run in the men’s 800m at the Oslo Diamond League.

 

The Kenyan star went straight for glory, chasing the world lead from the gun to bell and for a moment, it looked like Algerias Djamel Sedjati would pip him for the win but Wanyonyi held firm to claim the win with a season’s best of 1:42.78, just shy of the fastest time of the year.

Elsewhere in the Women’s 3000m steeplechase another epic Battle between Kenyas Faith Cherotich and Bahrains Winfref Javi saw Faith Cherotich once again pipping Javi to glory and setting a New Meet Record of 9:02.60 in Oslo.

‎Cherotich win made it two from two in their head-to-head battles this season and it’s looking personal now for the Two Rivals.

‎In The Men’s Dream Mile Race 1500 m Veteran Timothy Cheruiyot finished 4 th.

‎Next Up for Kenya’s Athletes is the Stockholm Diamond league in three Days time in Sweden.
