Business Bay Square Owner to Build KES 65 Billion Mega Project at Tatu City

Business Bay Square (BBS) owner Abdiweli Hassan, OGW, EBS has signed a KES 65 billion deal with Rendeavour Founder & CEO Stephen Jennings to develop a 60-acre mixed-use project at Tatu City Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

 

The development will feature homes, retail and office spaces, logistics facilities, parks, and a mosque, marking a major expansion by one of East Africa’s top real estate developers beyond central Nairobi.

Mr. Hassan, known for the award-winning BBS Mall in Eastleigh — the largest shopping and entertainment complex in East and Central Africa — said the Tatu City project represents “the future of holistic, well-planned communities.”

 

Construction is expected to begin within a year, with completion phased over 10 years.

 

Tatu City continues to attract major investments, with more than KES 450 billion committed by global and local firms including Heineken, CCI Global, Naivas, and NCBA
