On August 1st, Njoro Subcounty in Nakuru County played host to a major empowerment program graced by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as the chief guest.
Speaking during the event, DP Kindiki highlighted several key achievements of the Kenya Kwanza administration. Among them was the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHA), which has already registered over 25 million Kenyans. He also noted the government’s move to reduce university fees by 15–40%, continued improvement of the road network, and other developmental milestones.

Kindiki reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the late President Mwai Kibaki’s vision of free primary and secondary education, stating that there are no plans to abolish the policy. He also cautioned political leaders against promoting tribal politics, urging them instead to focus on sharing development-oriented agendas.
His sentiments were echoed by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, who both condemned opposition leaders for allegedly propagating divisive tribal narratives.
Other dignitaries present at the event included the host MP Charity Kathambi (Njoro), MP Kimani Kuria (Molo), MP David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East), Nakuru County Woman Representative Liza Chelule, Sabina Chege, Aisha Jumwa, among many others.
