The race to dethrone Kamungei FC, reigning champions of the Wakili Sigei Cup, continues this weekend as the second edition of the high-energy tournament enters the sub-county finals in Bomet County.
This weekend, all eyes turn to Bomet East where six games will light up the pitch in back-to-back showdowns across two competitive pools — Group A and Group B.
The stakes are sky-high, the rivalries fierce, and the fans ready for the local football fever.

The action kicks off in Group A at the iconic Tegat Grounds, a place better known for its long-distance running, thanks to the nearby Tegat athletics camp.
But for this weekend, it’s football that will steal the spotlight.
Kiptobit and Chemaner will set the tone in the early kickoff at 10 a.m., with both teams eager to draw first blood. At noon, hosts Tegat FC will hope to use the home crowd advantage when they lock horns with Kapsimbiri in what promises to be a fierce battle. The final fixture in the group will see Olobobo face the winner of the day’s opener, making for a dramatic close to Group A’s play.
Meanwhile, Group B clashes will unfold at the always lively Merigi Stadium, with another trio of matches on the cards. Kiparuso is up first, looking to unsettle a confident Kapkimolwo side in what could be an early statement of intent.
The second showdown brings together Chemaner VTC and Mengit, two teams with everything to prove and no plans of backing down.
The final match will see Tendonok await the winner of the Kiparuso-Kapkimolwo duel, promising a high-stakes finish to the day’s program.

Last year, over 400 teams from Bomet’s five sub-counties brought the heat with champions Kamungei FC needing a nail-biting penalty shootout to clinch the crown against Mogoiywet Snippers at the IAAF Bomet Stadium, which was aired Live on Kass TV.
The tournament, under the patronage of Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei, seeks to unearth, discover, nurture and grow talent amongst the youth in Bomet County.
