Wetangula takes a swipe at opposition leaders
By Robert Siele
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has criticized opposition leaders for promoting divisive and tribal politics.
Speaking during the commissioning of new classrooms and a school bus at Chepkutung Secondary school in Belgut, Kericho county, Wetangula emphasized the government’s commitment to unity and national development.

‘’We were here during the campaign period together with president William Ruto and we promised unity and development irrespective of where you come from. That is still the president’s stand.’’ Said Wetangula.
He said the president’s effort to unite the country is well manifested through the broad-based government.
‘’Even those we competed with in the last election are included in the broad-based government and they are serving the country well’’. He added.
He called on those opposing the government to do so in the right manner and avoid divisive politics.
‘’To those spreading divisive politics, there is no space. You are lacking development agenda and the president is going nowhere, he is focusing on development’’ said the speaker.
Wetangula was accompanied by a host of politicians from Kenya Kwanza coalition who blamed those opposing government led by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua for recklessness and abusive utterances.

‘’Those who are saying the president must go, led by Rigathi Gachagua are very confused. Every time they say the president must go, I want to tell them the president has an idea that speaks to the agenda and prosperity of our people’’ Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai said.
Kericho county Member of parliament Beatrice Kemei and her Belgut Counterpart Nelson Koech said the president’s plan is to empower and prosper the country through unity and development.
‘’Our president has the ability to deliver the country, he has united the country. He has an agenda to deliver of various sectors including education, health, empowerment and agriculture and we are in full support’’ said Ms. Kemei.
Other dignitaries accompanying national assembly speaker who showed support for the president included Bomet County member of parliament Linnet Chepkorir, Martin Wanyonyi of Mumias East and Jhanda Zheer of Nyaribari Chache among other guests.
