Two Police Officers to be Jailed for 35 Years Over Murder

The High Court in Eldoret sentenced two police officers, Emmanuel Wafula and Godwine Wekesa Siirengo, to 35 years in jail each for torturing and murdering Dennis Lusava at Mbururu Police Post in Likuyani.
The officers lured Lusava to the station, assaulted him with electric cables, and later dumped his body in River Nzoia.
The conviction is seen as a milestone in holding rogue police officers accountable for custodial deaths and cover-ups.
Lawyers Janice Muchemi and Wilfred Mesocho from The International Justice Mission which represents the victim’s family lauded the sentence, saying justice has finally been served.
