Residents of Lekimbo village in the Youth Farmers Area of Bomet East, Bomet County, were left in shock after a man was discovered hoarding a heap of women’s underwear and other inner garments, along with an eerie animal that sent villagers fleeing in terror.

The bizarre revelation came after locals, who had long complained about missing clothes and household items, stormed the suspect’s house.

“We have been wondering where our undergarments have been disappearing to! Even sufurias (cooking pots) have been vanishing, and we’ve been blaming it on our kids,” lamented one distressed woman.

According to residents, clothes would mysteriously disappear as soon as they were hung out to dry.

The suspect, identified as Gabriel, had allegedly been stealing and stashing them in his house.

“This is strange! There are so many women’s and children’s clothes here, yet this man isn’t even married!” another villager exclaimed.

Speaking to KASS TV, one resident described how a mysterious creature sent villagers scrambling for safety.

“When we arrived, a strange animal bolted out!” a shaken witness recounted. “It was like a cat, but not a cat… It had a round head! It looked like a Kibung’bungit (a mysterious nocturnal creature). We had to scamper for safety!” she narrated amidst of laughter from the villagers

Area Assistant Chief Daisy Sawe urged residents to remain calm and assist the police in their investigations.

“We believe these are stolen items. If anyone can identify their belongings, they will be used as exhibits in court. It’s not possible for one man to own ten hoes (Mokomboik). This doesn’t make sense,” she said while addressing the angry crowd.

Meanwhile, the suspect’s father pleaded for mercy on his son’s behalf.

“Please, don’t kill him. Just give him a lesson,” he begged.

Residents have been urged to come forward and identify their missing possessions as investigations continue.
