OVER 250 LITRES OF ETHANOL NABBED IN ANNEX, ELDORET.

Police in Eldoret have nabbed over 250 litres of ethanol that were hidden beneath sand in an estate in Annex, Eldoret after a tip off from the members of public.
The members of public raised eyebrows after suspicion of illicit activities that were going on in an unfinished building, with efforts to access the building yielding no fruits prompting them to alert police officers.
Uasin Gishu county commissioner Dr. Edison Nyale has affirmed tough measures aimed at the fight against illicit brews and second generation alcohol in the county.
“This ethanol is targeting the young people in universities and tertiary institutions within Eldoret and we are not going to allow this, we must protect our children from harmful products…” Noted Nyale.
Uasin Gishu county police commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed that the ethanol has a street value of over shillings 500,000 and investigation has already commenced to ensure that all those involved are arrested and charged.
This comes bare a month after bhang worth over shillings 50 million was nabbed again in Eldoret, with no arrests made so far.
