Mystery Beast Strikes in Londiani: Family Loses Livelihood as 6 Sheep Killed, 5 Injured

A farmer is counting loses after a stray animal attacked and killed his goats at Saramek Village in Londiani in Kericho county.
Speaking to Kass Digital, Bernard Munai, a resident of Saramek Village said 7 goats were killed and 4 others were left with severe injuries. According to Munai, the suspected wild animal on a hunting spree attacked and killed the seven goats without eating.
“I suspect the incident happened at around 12:00 am when everybody was a sleep. The animal gained access by climbing the wall of goat shade and started the attack. Probably it is not a dog due to the means it accessed where the goats were.” Said Bernard Munai, the owner of the goats.
Munai added that the cost of loss is estimated at 100,0000 an investment he was heavily depending on to cater fo his family and it’s a big loss.
“Each goat cost 10,000 shillings and having lost over ten goats including the injured brings the accumulated cost of loss to over 100,000 shillings.” Added Munai.

The residents of Londiani and its environs says they living in due to the invasion of their farms by wild animals which might end attacking humans. The called the Kenya wild life services to intervene and commence the investigations into the matter including first tracking of compensation dues to the affected farmer.
