Mosiemo Group Protests Police Presence at Ngongori Farm Despite Court Order

Members of the Mosiemo Group have raised concerns over the continued presence of police officers at Ngongori Farm, alleging harassment despite a court order allowing both them and Egerton University to remain on the disputed land until a ruling is made on November 4, 2025.
Speaking to the press at Ngongori Farm, the group accused Egerton University of allegedly financing the deployment of police officers to intimidate them, even though the matter is still pending in court.
The dispute revolves around ownership of the expansive Ngongori Farm, which spans over 2,500 acres. Both Egerton University and the Mosiemo Group claim rightful ownership of the land.
The group maintained that they are committed to abiding by the court’s final decision. “If the court rules in our favor, we shall be grateful. If it doesn’t, we are ready to vacate,” one of the members said.
They also urged law enforcement authorities to ensure that any officers visiting the farm—especially those in civilian clothes—carry proper identification. This comes after an incident in recent weeks where a plainclothes officer was reportedly attacked by members who mistook him for an intruder after he failed to identify himself.
