Harambee Stars Edge Chad 2-1 in Friendly Match

Kenya’s Harambee Stars registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Chad in an international friendly match played in Marrakech Morroco marking Head Coach Benny McCarthy’s first win at the helm.
Emmanuel Osoro, making his debut for the national team, opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a calm finish following a well-worked team move. The Talanta FC forward, expressed his delight at scoring in his first appearance for the national side.
“I’ve been dreaming of getting a call-up to Harambee Stars. We wanted a clean sheet, but since we didn’t get it, I’m happy we got the win,” said Osoro after the match.

David Sakwa doubled the lead just before halftime, giving Kenya a comfortable lead heading into the break.
Chad responded in the second half through Ali Mahamat, who pulled one back as they attempted a comeback. However, the Stars held on defensively to secure the win.
Coach Benny McCarthy was visibly pleased with the performance.

“I’m happy and delighted for the team to get this win we want to build on this as we prepare for the CHAN 2025 tournament,” said McCarthy.
