Harambee Stars Edge Chad 2-1 in Friendly Match ‎

‎Kenya’s Harambee Stars registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Chad in an international friendly match played in Marrakech Morroco marking Head Coach Benny McCarthy’s first win at the helm.

‎Emmanuel Osoro, making his debut for the national team, opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a calm finish following a well-worked team move. The Talanta FC forward, expressed his delight at scoring in his first appearance for the national side.

‎“I’ve been dreaming of getting a call-up to Harambee Stars. We wanted a clean sheet, but since we didn’t get it, I’m happy we got the win,” said Osoro after the match.

‎David Sakwa doubled the lead just before halftime, giving Kenya a comfortable lead heading into the break.

‎Chad responded in the second half through Ali Mahamat, who pulled one back as they attempted a comeback. However, the Stars held on defensively to secure the win.

‎Coach Benny McCarthy was visibly pleased with the performance.

‎“I’m happy and delighted for the team to get this win  we want to build on this as we prepare for the CHAN 2025 tournament,” said McCarthy.
