Bomet Finance Chief Officer is Dead

Bomet county Chief Officer for Finance Erick Chepkwony is dead.

 

The cause of his death has not been established but reports indicate that he collapsed and died in Nairobi on Wednesday evening.

 

Bomet Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok has confirmed Chepkwony’s demise terming it as devastating.

 

“This devastating loss feels even more profound as we remember how full of life he was just yesterday,” said the Governor in a Facebook post.

 

He was first appointed as the Chief Officer for Cooperatives in December 2022 before being transferred to Public works. He was later moved to the Finance docket in September 2023, a responsibility he held until his death.

 

He also served as National Vice Chairman at Kenya Tea Developmet Agency.

 

Other leaders who have eulogized Chepkwony include Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei who said he will be remembered as a diligent professional and a committed servant.

 

“His contribution to public service and the tea sector in Kenya will be remembered,” said Sigei.

 

On his part, Belgut Mp Nelson Koech who also chairs Defence and Foreign Relations Committee in the National Assembly wished Chepkwony’s family, friends and workmates fortitude during this moment of grief.
