Kenya’s motorsport scene is warming up for the adrenaline-charged return of the iconic WRC Safari Rally Kenya and this time, a powerful story of determination, family, and women breaking barriers is taking centre stage.

At a colourful flag-off ceremony held at PrideInn Azure Hotel Nairobi Westlands, leading hospitality group PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camps threw its weight behind the MomNDota rally team of mother and daughter Caroline Gatimu and Tinashe Gatimu ahead of the rally set for March 12–15 across the dramatic landscapes of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.

The partnership is more than sponsorship it is a statement.

With rally engines preparing to roar across the rugged tracks around Great Rift Valley, PrideInn says it is proud to support a team that represents resilience, courage, and the growing presence of women in competitive motorsport.

Speaking during the flag-off, PrideInn Chief Operating Officer Varun Arora said the Safari Rally is not just a race, but a global showcase of Kenya’s beauty and spirit.

For the Gatimus, the moment carries both excitement and pressure.

Tinashe Gatimu will compete in the African Rally Championship category, targeting both a strong ARC performance and the ultimate prize in rallying simply finishing the notoriously tough Safari Rally.

The rally is famous for pushing machines and drivers to their limits through dust, mud, rocks, and unpredictable terrain.
For Tinashe, however, the journey is also symbolic.

She thanked PrideInn for believing in the team, noting that the precision, discipline, and attention to detail that define hospitality are the same qualities required in motorsport.

By backing the Gatimu duo, PrideInn has stepped into the growing global conversation about gender inclusion in rallying — one of the rare sports where men and women compete under the same regulations on the same track.

As thousands of fans, international media crews, and rally enthusiasts prepare to descend on Kenya for the legendary WRC Safari Rally Kenya, the 2026 edition promises not just speed and spectacle, but inspiring human stories.

Among them will be the MomNDota team flying the Kenyan flag, chasing the finish line, and proving that rallying courage sometimes runs in the family.
