Rono urged union members to conduct themselves responsibly before, during, and after the elections, noting that the union’s strength lies in unity and mutual respect. He emphasized that leadership contests should not divide workers but instead strengthen their collective voice in advocating for better working conditions.

“We are appealing to all contestants and their supporters to uphold peace and avoid any form of intimidation or incitement. The elections should reflect maturity and democracy,” said Rono.

He further called on candidates to focus on issue-based campaigns and respect the outcome of the polls, adding that mechanisms have been put in place to address any grievances that may arise.

Security agencies and election officials are expected to be on the ground to ensure the exercise proceeds smoothly. Union members from across the county are expected to participate in the exercise.
