Adamson Bungei denies any involvement in the Gen Z protest’s killings that happened on July 20, 2025.
Ex-Nairobi Regional Commander Adamson Bungei has denied any involvement in the reported killings and abduction that occurred during the Gen Zs protests on July 20, 2025.
He however acknowledged that the police officers were deployed to various part of the country during the protests to bring order and stop looting.
On whether the police engaged in illegal shooting during the protests, Bungei says it’s not only officers who have access to firearms and insisted that no gunfire took place on that night.
Bungei was testifying in Court to help establish who was responsible for the death of the activist Rex Masai who died during the Gen Z protests last year, raising many questions about police conduct, operations, involvement and the use of excessive force on public protests.
