President Ruto honoured 500 Kenyans during the Jamhuri Day
President William Ruto honoured more than 500 Kenyans with national awards during the Jamhuri Day celebrations on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The honours include other distinguished categories such as the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) and Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS), recognizing the individuals from the military, public service, healthcare, and justice systems.
President Ruto conferred awards to several individuals from various field of specialization like military, civilians, and professionals in recognition of their service.
Among those honoured with Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (M.G.H) award (Third Class) is the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.
The other five recipients in this category were drawn from the ranks of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu was also recognized with the Elder of the Golden Heart (E.G.H), the second-highest honour under the Order of the Golden Heart.
